Honorary Membership<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Honorary awards are decided by the full Council of the Society upon receipt of a nomination.  Nominations need to be accompanied by a CV. These are not annual awards and will only be awarded when a suitable candidate is identified and more than one award can be made at the same time. Recipients of these awards are exempted from membership fees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Awards at the Combined Congress<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

A number of awards are presented by the Society at the Combined Congress, which brings together the Southern African Society for Horticultural Sciences (SASHS), The South African Society of Crop Production (SASCP) and The Soil Science Society of South Africa (SSSSA). These awards honour the scientific contribution of members and specifically students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Best Publication in a peer reviewed journal by an SASHS member in the previous year (1 July to 31 June)
Best poster at the Congress
Best presentation by an M.Sc. student
Best presentation by a Ph.D. student
Best overall presentation by a student (R15 000 travel award)<\/p>\n\n\n
